Woodcock time!

Common Woodcock

Jordan Spindel writes today, 2/22/16:

Midday today I was out in the Ramble birding.  I was taking a break at the feeders when I saw an AMERICAN WOODCOCK fly past heading east. It was clearly this species, with the mostly unmarked wings and long bill. I later learned that at least 1 or 2 other Woodcocks were seen in the park that day. Also continuing was the RED BREASTED MERGANSER on the reservoir. Other than those two, I only saw the usual suspects, but for the first time ever, I saw a Brown Creeper feeding on the ground!  It just shows you how small it really is.
