The Christmas Count, this year and last

Gathering at the 2008 Bird Count

The NYC Audubon and the Urban Park Rangers invite you to take part in the 110th Annual Central Park Christmas Bird Count. Everyone is welcome, from beginners to advanced birders!

The collected data
from this annual event, part of a nation-wide initiative, will be added to an ever-growing database that provides valuable information to research scientists who study early winter bird populations across North America.

When?
8am on Sunday, December 20, 2009


Where?
Meet at the South Pump Station of the Reservoir -- 85th Street west of 5th Avenue in the park. (All counting groups will be escorted by Urban Park Rangers.)

After the count at 12:30pm: Data tally and refreshments at the Arsenal Gallery (3rd floor of the Arsenal at 64th Street & 5th Avenue.)

$5 registration fee payable at the Reservoir on the day of the event. (children under 18 are FREE).
